Re: Airshow
Only advice is what I've read which is :-
For clear skies dial in some exposure compensation, often +2/3 to + 1 as a starting point. Check your histogram. If shooting against clouds you will probably get under-exposed aircraft unless you meter very carfully . Shoot raw to give yourself that 5 stops to play with. Forget the old tripod or monopod as too hard to track the planes. Use a high shutter speed for jets, but slower one for prop planes to get a slight blur on blades. If looking to take shots of the static planes on the ground, then look to get there early to avoid all the crowds. Looking forward to the shots |

Re: Airshow
Very sorry for the late reply.
Right, it will be sods law that it will be overcast and hazy. Such is life. I'm currently using a polarising and UV filter, this helps cut it down a little. Take as many photos as you can, just to make sure that you get at least one half decent. The question you have to ask yourself (which has been mentioned before), do you want the blades/props to be blured on their axis of rotation, or fixed (with a static appearance). Just have a play, thats the only way I found out really. Have a whizz throught my gallery. I do prefer taking photos of static a/c, but thats only because they're easier. Also be careful with that haze, my auto focus tends to prefer that to the actual a/c themselves. lol. All the best mate, look forward to seeing them? BTW, which airshow are you going to?
