A life-changing event!

My son spent 9 months fretting about his girlfriends unplanned pregnancy - but now he thinks it was the best thing that has ever happened.

Yes - it's scary - yes - you now have responsibilities like never before and yes - that new camera will have to go on hold along with the holiday, the

down the pub, and a lot more. But the reward is priceless

THE GOOD THING ABOUT THE GRANDCHILDREN IS, WE CAN SEND THEM HOME

ONE BIT OF ADVICE, WHEN THEY START TO CRAWL AND WALK, PUT EVERYTHING AS NEAR TO THE CEILING AS YOU CAN GET IT.

Even though my wife had 2 children from last marriage, when it was our turn we found the following author to be an absolute godsend. from reading one of herbooks on routine, we turned a baby that that seemed to cry most of the day & night, around within 24 hrs to a bay that was happy & was sleeping 16 hrs a day

I call her books the Bible

(I think we had one called the "contented baby")

Gonna start that list of advice for you

For starters, stock up on choccies for your missus, if she's anything like I was LOL. Ok still am, but stopping smoking's my excuse this time

BTW good on you for stopping smoking, good timing

I feel an anecdote coming on ...

One of the other girls I worked with who was pregnant at the same time as me (there were 3 of us! apparently we'd all enjoyed Easter very much) suddenly announed she'd stopped smoking

and later announced she was expecting

I'd guessed she was, because she'd previously vowed never to give up smoking 'cos she loved it so much. Hmmm must ask Fiona if she's pregnant LOL. (Before anyone starts wondering, no I'm not!)

Anyway, jokes aside, you'll get good guidance from antenatal classes as well Stu, so be sure to go along with your missus

PS I'm not joking about the choccies tho', I was on average of 4-5 Crunchie/Mars/Whatever per day
