Anyone Use a Powerball?

I bought a powerball when I bought the D3, but haven't used it much (typical). There are loads of video's on Youtube on how to start it up + get it going, which I can do ... but there's nothing on practical usage of the thing I mean d'you just hold it out in front of you while it's spinning (a bit boring), or can you do specific movements to work certain muscles? Anyone know?

LOL! Doing a workout program to build yourself up to enable carrying the D3 for more than ten minutes Maybe you should scrap the powerball and do some weights

Are there no instructions/demos etc with the product?

Re: Anyone Use a Powerball?

Graham - You might well laugh, but jokes aside, I expressed to others a concern re: holding the weight of a D3 for an all-day shoot (with the impending wedding shoot in mind), and I half-jokingly said something like "or should I train up first". Someone, in all seriousness, recommended the powerball to me, to strengthen the hands/fingers/wrists for prolonged shooting with heavy camera gear. Thus I ordered a powerball at the same time as I ordered the D3 Weights is also an option, as I'm becoming fitness-aware just now ... or rather, aware that I'm not fit No, there's not much in the way of instructions, except to tell you how to start it.

Woody - a powerball (see here) is a small + cheap exercise machine, used to strengthen hand/arm muscles. Apparently it's popular with sportsmen + women, e.g. golf, tennis, archery, etc. It's also something of a fad among young people who have no interest whatsoever in sports, going by the multitude of time-wasting videos on Youtube Re: the connection between a powerball + my D3, this should now be apparent

Re: Anyone Use a Powerball?

I was given one after my shoulder op, regular use will definitely help strengthen wrist and forearm, a friend uses one for CTS. There often used by musicians especially guitarists as well.

Re: Anyone Use a Powerball?

hey charlotte, i got one 2or3 years ago.....mainly for helping get more strength and help muscle movement for drumming. They are a good job and if you use them often enough will make your forearms twice the size they should be lol theyre good for wrists/shoulders/fingers/elbows. There should be videos and tutorials on the powerball website somewhere!

LOL Steve, that's what I'm afraid of I want to build strength for endurance (of holding heavy camera gear for prolonged shoots), not bulging muscles

I had searched on the main website for a bit more of an insight into using it for specific purposes/areas of hand-wrist-arm-shoulder, and found more info, but the links posted by stupot were the best ones
