I can see where apple are trying to go with this but unless I'm missing something I can see problems for them when it starts to swing the other way.
I love using my Macs and wouldn't want to ever have to go back to windows again but when PC's start to run OSX, why will people still pay apples over inflated hardware prices? |

I wouldn't say Apple's prices are over inflated. You have to pay a little more for good design and superior quality. I love my imac (powerPC) but have to run some XP apps with my business. I'm contemplating getting an imac (intel) and to run it as just an XP machine. |

I must admit I've never had any problems with apple support/customer services, and I support hundreds of Macs (along with thousands of PCs). The Macs are far less troublesome overall.

who made a diagnosis I couldn't really agree with. At his request, the computer was taken to a local store and fixed a couple days later. And Sean was 100% correct in his diagnosis.Quote:

a big 20" tool
![]() Typing on it now whilst the OS is updating. I bought a 1GB stick but they sold me the wrong one - despite me querying this no less than three times. Ho-Hum. Another trip back tomorrow - after I have to stay in for two deliveries. |

We just had 2 new G5's delivered at work today. One is a Quad 2.5Ghz with 2.5 GB ram, the other is a Dual 2.0Ghz with 2.5GB Ram, both have the 20" Cinema screens. But at the end of the day they are still Macs and i honestly don't like them.
I have been in the print industry for 17years and used Macs and PCs and can honestly say PCs have been a lot more stable than the Macs. |

![]() All Im saying is that I have heard alot of horror stories of people having Apple equipment fail on them and that the response they get is at best expensive, at worst tends to be a form of denial. Im sure not all cases are bad, but equally I doubt they are any better than most PC manufacturers. |

You are kidding?!?! Hardly a day goes by without one of our xp clones having a brainfart and needing a reboot. The imacs are left on for days. Here's the result of my evening's work ![]() ![]() Very straighforward. No probs at all. Not bad for beta software. |

..... but I do stand by the fact that I have been really impresssed with how they work. I have also done the IT manger bit in a past life and have never worked with anything as relaible or stable as my G5 or powerbook. They are better, end of story. They really should be for the price you have to pay though.
