As some of you may know my car was written of a couple months ago while parked outside my house, the person who did it drove away so i lost not only a car but my no claims.....anyway............
Saturday morning i get up. go round to the shop and what do i find........ but my passenger wing mirror, smashed to smithereens and spread across the road........ oh it gets better..... not only mine was smashed but Alans my partners as well.. and about 6 other cars up and down the street......... so i phoned the police and reported it.
we were away over night at Alans folks and when we got back last night what do i find... yep the driver side wing mirror ripped off............. got up this morning and the glass was smashed on Alans other wing mirror............ needless to say i am not in the best of moods and if i have to sit out with the camera trained on the car all night I will!

right rant over sorry but it had to be done.

Wouldn't it be be nice if the Police wanted to sit out all night, rather than the victim.

yep I actually said to the police i was gonna do it and he said if i do can i give them the photo in the morning! lol
I wasnt actually joking tho cos if it happens again i WILL be out there!

Unbelievable bad luck. There is some free software for webcams, that only records images when there is a change in the scene. If you had a decent enough image from it, you could leave it pointed at car from upstairs window to capture offender ?

good idea dave, unfortunately we dont have an upstairs........ and the cars have to be parked at the side of the building so no windows look out to it...... the only way would be to sit out at the back gate where they couldnt see us but we could see them....... oh yeah and i dont have a web cam! lol

Here's the way to do it Fi: Park it up next to the house. Now, take a mains wire with a plug on one end and two bear wires at the other. Attach to the car and switch on. Wait till the little sods come and touch it and you're sorted. The culprits will be the ones with an insta-perm the next morning :o)

Ok, the polie might not agree with that method but hey, worth a go <g>

hmmmmmmm funny thing is that Alan suggested the very same thing and i have to admit i was very tempted unfortunately it would be my luck that someone would bump against the car who was innocently walking past! i KNOW how my luck goes! lol
