Call this critique!?
Was just browsing A.N Other forum, and came across the most pathetic crit ever, and then some support of it. Makes me count myself lucky I'm a regular here

Re: Call this critique!?
I thought initially that the second post may have been sarcastic but, er, probably not!
Slightly OT, but TBH it's quite difficult to give critique unless you know something about the person who is inviting it. Some people genuinely want (constructive) criticism and respond positively to it, whilst others are expecting a 'gosh, wow, fantastic!' response and are offended if they get anything else. I'm sure that most Pixalo members fall into the first category, and that is the only way to learn - and we should never, ever stop learning until we're in a big box with brass handles. ![]()

I just want genuine critique good or bad. Take it like a man and learn and move on.

Re: Call this critique!?
Agree with Silky about knowing the photographer + have to admit I'm more comfortable giving a full critique to pixalonians whom I know, and I do back off a bit with newbies ... just so that they have something to look forward to
![]() When receiving critique, it's as well to remember that a lot of it is down to personal taste, but if you have a lot of ppl saying the same things, then you know there's got to be something in what they're saying. If someone gets offended by genuine critique, then they're not ready to receive critique. And that's not a criticism Our own photo's are very personal to us + so yes, we can take critique personally; the trick to not getting offended is to remember that opinions + advice offered are meant in a helpful way.

this is so true you give a critique and if you don't "Wow Fantastic" their image they give you so many excuses for the critique you give, don't get why they put the picture up in critique in the first place if they think their image is perfect. ![]() |
