Rob, CoH is a great game, the level of realism in the graphics is awesome

Oh and the damage to buildings etc is far more realistic than Haddock4

Re: Call of duty 4 "Modern Warfare"

LOL Hooky, yes but it demands just as much time to get to know it all LOL. But I must agree I was totally gobsmacked by the level and fluidity of the graphics which are just amazing. I have the 8800 Ultra graphics card which costs an absolute fortune (I bought it as part of a power PC system, not realising I was getting something a bit too fancy for what I really needed!) and the game does show it off spectaularly well.

Mind you, My Flight Sim X also shows it off superbly. I am a bit of an expert on MS Flight Sim having owned every version from Flight Sim 2! On my other PC (2.4Ghz CPU, 1Gb RAM and a fairly basic graphics card) the latest version could only really be run at about 50% or below on most graphic options and some turned off altogether. On my new system (Quad-core processor, 4GBs RAM and this fancy GPU) I can set every single graphics option to 100% and it runs as smoothly as you could ever hope for. The level of detail is quite amazing. Fly low in a Cessna along a main road and it has loads of cars, trucks, motorbikes etc in full 3D detail driving along the roads! Fly low over the plains of the Serengeti and you see elephants, giraffes, etc. ... pretty cool!

So, can a game like CoH replace my first love, Flight Sims? I seriously doubt it but it does look a lot of fun to spend a bit of time on.... even if it is time I can scant afford LOL

Cheers,
Rob

Re: Call of duty 4 "Modern Warfare"

Played the demo at a friend with an XPS's house, and liked it. Thought I survived a bit too easily, but I liked the 'no-HUD' idea, and the graphics and general ambiance were impressive.
