ok i know. i have no idea what i am doing when it comes to web sites. so can someone please tell me ( in dummy language) how i add the code to my web site so it can be validated! ?

And stop laughing! lol

no ones laughing Fiona, websites can be frustrating and difficult to understand

however no one can tell you the answer exactly, as we don't own your site.

What you will need to do however is either login to your website control panel and change the code there or do it on your local machine (you home pc) in your website templates if you have them and then upload the changed file to your webhost using a FTP program.

If you give some more information we may be able to hlep you better...did you design your own site, did a friend design your own site, is it a site that you signed up for on the web and then clicked a few buttons etc?

um i do my ownm oiste but know nothing of code, I use front page. the only bit of code i have ever deon is to insert the code for the guestbook, and they told me what to do, i think i just copied it and pasted it in the right place on the page with the code on it. but i cant remember! lol

Ok well thats exactly what you need to do with the code you got from here. Copy it exactly as it was shown and paste it into your webpage when you have it opened in Frontpage. Where you paste it in will be where it appears on your site. Once you are happy with the placing of the code you can then upload the file onto your website and everything should be fine.

I don't use frontpage myself but I believe that you can preview what the changes look like from within the program so make sure you are happy with them before uploading.

Fiona, one of the drop-down menus in FrontPage has an option for inserting HTML and I think it brings up a box for you to paste the code into. I'll go have a look on mine and try to find out which menu it is!

ok i have put it on the site...have checked it and its on the links page.. BUT when i click validate its saying it cant find the code and cant validate the site

I have just checked your site and you have submitted your homepage as the site and placed the code on your links page, so the check cannot find your link as it is looking in a different place.

As per the instructions in this thread. You have placed the link of a different page and not the one you submitted.
