Ok, hopefully long story short.

I have been wanting to get into taking pictures and join a camera club. The phone book didn't have any listed so I went to a couple of camera shops in my area and did a web search for clubs with no luck. At one shop a lady suggested I try Meetup: World's largest community of local Meetups, clubs and groups! - Meetup.com . It's a site that hosts links to hundreds of different interest groups. From A-Z. You can search by area and I found two clubs within a 12 mile distance of me. Apparently they have links for all over the world.

I joined the one nearest me but haven't had time to go to one of their meetings or outings. This week alone they have three outings planned.

I put in my local town (Photography, Chesterfield) and it only came up with:

Not to be beaten (whipped or something else!) I changed to 'Camera Clubs' and it found

See !! I told you they had groups for "everything".

But (with only one "t") did you find a camera club?
Maybe a search for photography club might get better results.

Apparently, up here in St Helens, as far as photography and camera clubs go, we're okay and normal! Not like you Derbyshire lot

That was not much fun. I put photography and Huddersfield into the fields and got ten "hits" the only one not directly related to photography was for Photoshop.

I put in photography and London and a few decent looking ones came up, but most say over 18

Put in Cheltenham and you will get sheep and some rather strange people who work at GCHQ!!!
One i knew kept all his money in his shoe and he walked with a limp, he would go into a shop and take his shoe off.
Another fruitcake i knew and this is totally true, sat in his rear garden nude shooting potatoes with a air rifle!!!
