Get yourself some Zymol and polish it to death!!!!
Got the heated seat & wind deflector & as you say fine on a cold day with roof down Just as well it has traction control , as i've seen the little symbol flash up a few times under hard acceleration in the wet at some quite high speeds (within speed limit of course)

Should make an effort to clean cars more often.....I'll chuck it through a car wash ...done it before with convertibles

Re: Car Nuts - Any advice on Renault 3.0 Sport ?

Dave,

Is it still on the standard RFT tyres? If so, what do you think of the ride?

I backed away from the 3.0 when I spec'd mine because it has the "M" suspension on it. I found it way too hard and considering I was doing 3-4,000 miles a month when I first got it I just couldn't stand it. NOW I wish I'd of plucked up the courage because if you swap the RFT's for standard tyres (and a bottle of sealant in the boot) the ride is transformed!

Oh well... like I say, time for a trade in soon, and the ///M is a calling!!!

Re: Car Nuts - Any advice on Renault 3.0 Sport ?

Still got the RFT's on 18" wheels, so yes a harsh ride, but vs some other cars still a comfy ride. I'll look to change to normal tyres when they wear out. The missus's 1 series sport runs on RFT's, so got used to it a certain extent.

Just taking car in now for alloys to be refurbed.....& borrowing the Z4 coupe 3.0 for a day Might get one of them if any good, 2 years down the line (eg 2 yr old s/h vsn)

Re: Car Nuts - Any advice on Renault 3.0 Sport ?

Cheers Nathan.

Just drove mine down to Beemer garage. Noted ride is very smooth, but the noise from those tyres is very intrusive.

Picked up the Z4 3.0 Coupe & WOW !!!!! It had exactly same 18" wheels as mine, but so much quieter inside & less shake & rattles, as car is that much stiffer. Know what my next car will be Recommend you test drive one asap Nathan.....& I have to keep this car until Friday Think I'll drive to the office tomorrow to see how an 80 miles round trip feels

Couldn't resist taking it out for a thrash Now this car is another step up from the Z4 convertible Nathan. Extremely comfortable & quiet, but not quiet enough not to hear that wail of exhaust when you plant the accelerator. Suspension has been played with, as much more comfortable, yet car handles better. Steering has been weighted up a bit also. Took it down the lane on way back to my house, soaking wet slippy roads & I have to say I could travel 10-20% faster in this car, due to the feedback & confidence it gives you WANT ONE WANT ONE ....shame I'll have ot wait 2 years for prices to be more sensible

Re: Car Nuts - Any advice on Renault 3.0 Sport ?

do you not think the beemers steering gets a bit light at the front when you boot it?
and also for that sort of money i would have to go for a porsche

Re: Car Nuts - Any advice on Renault 3.0 Sport ?

Light at the front?

It doesn't get light, it digs in!

The only annoyance is a slight detachment from the road because of the electrically assisted power steering.

As for going for the Porsche. The thing with the boxster is, yes it's a sublime chassis, but in my mind that just makes the driver lazy. "I know I can corner fast", yeah but have you got the balls to push it further and further and further, with the ability to catch it if it gives!?

I've driven a lot of cars, including that Renault and the Boxster, but nothing puts a smile on your face (this side of an AMV8) like the Z4. Even the lowly 2.0 is a scream!!!!
