Just asking for some advice in another thread and thought i'd place some competitions on in a way of payment for advice.

There is a Panasonic comp on at the minute whic gives out some interesting prizes.

Lumix Awards - Judging the best in digital photography

And also a monthly Travel comp run by the Times (ongoing).

I have more but i can't find them at moment but i'll add them when i do.
I sometimes like entering comps and thought others may do to. However make sure the prizes are enough payment for your images because you normally lose rights over them for a few years. Good for tear sheets though! (providing you can win).

I entered the Lumix awards competition last year but my entery was rejected. Its a shame they chose not to say why or even to notify me of the fact at all

I may have another try though...nothing ventured nothing gained

National Insect Week | 19th -25th June 2006 Another competition, deadline 31st Oct, maybe good for Hacker and the like!

I'm just gonna keep on with the competition thing as and when, if thats alright with the admin!

Not properly looked into this one, but may be a good one for the likes of Dave and the other Nikon owners, may still be able to enter without a Nikon tho!

One for the travel photographer out there, deadline is 1st Dec 2006, you have to pay a tenner for this one though, but some good prizes again!

My posts will be a bit sparse over the next 3weeks as i'm going away on a bit of a working holiday in about 2hours. The only downside is that i have to go to England for it, hardly exotic. So i'm just now packing all my winter clothes and saying Adios to the Sun till next year as it will be freezing when i return home to Spain as i live about 1000m up a mountain with a ski resort on the top.

First time i've had a look for a while, and have one. I've been trying to get the details of this one for a while, but the website was not updated for ages.

Basically open to anyone from the Commonwealth. Also plenty of time doesn't close until the 17th of January 2007 and with £1000 prize money well worth entering. Standard will be pretty high though!

This may be a good one for you Fiona, run by Fort William Festival (Scotland) and the theme is mountains (from anywhere as far as i can tell). Not read too much on it, but think it's free to enter and cash prizes and photo workshops.
