Event Photography bookings!

Been busy, so not on site for a while, but now I'm back

.
I started my website last year for the sports photo's I take & with the cycling season just starting (reason for being busy, along with being on the committee for our club), I've had invitations to be the main photographer for 2 events so far. 1 last week, and from that I had another booking from a club that liked the shots.

All very exciting.

Thanks, just cleaned my sensor as well as it was a bit mucky. and Mark, I did once go out to a local race & realise I hadn't got any memory cards with me

Got 2 orders last week, don't expect many, but it should build a bit this week as it's a different area to the usual clubs I know.

Thanks, it went well yesterday, nice weather again, thank goodness! I finally got all the shots on the web by 11pm yesterday.

Hi Sarah great shots guess what I took your advise and now have my web site up and running (Alan Bowman Photography) and just done my first bike race today put a few up if you have time feel free to give me some advise. All the best

Charlotte, very busy! Not a huge amount of sales, but it's so nice to sit by the road in the sunshine & then go to the clubroom after for a cup of tea, slice of cake & a chat with all the cyclists I know.

I finally just worked that out!

I'm having a very bad, bad day today, I may as well go blonde the amount of blonde moments I've had.

Just looked at the site Alan & a good start to your cycling pics, I know of a couple of the club colours in there. A few pointers would be to try to make sure you stand somewhere where you don't get any road furniture in the shot if at all possible, they don't like it as it makes for a messy shot. Crop in nice & close in PS or better still in camera as you get the facial expressions clearer, they like a clear face shot or a shot showing their position on the bike. As for the print sizes, I find that most people will go for a 7x5 or 10x8, not A3 & if you are selling at A3 make sure it's very sharp. Also, put the name of the race and the organising club in the title. Not many people buy shots, I know my husband has only ever bought one of himself in 20 years of racing, but they do like looking.
Well that's enough tips, I'll be giving away business!
