Re: For every discerning Canon Owner
Wow, I could capture cyclists at the other end of some of the courses with that! I'd love to see their faces as they came up to it though

Re: For every discerning Canon Owner
Just wondering, would it be any good for macro and if so how close would the lens need to be from the subject to get a sharp image???

Re: For every discerning Canon Owner
Well at 41 metres away sparhawk, I guess you could get something pretty good with a Teleconverter if you had a big enough garden or studio!

Thanks for that answer, I have always known that there would be someone on this site that could give me a technical reply and further my understanding of this great hobby.Unfortunatly my garden is only a window box so that is a no go and as our toilet is also my studio I think I will put the idea on the back burner of the time being ![]() Regards Sparhawk |

Re: For every discerning Canon Owner
lol no problem!
I'd like to try one out just to see what it really can do, but I think that there are so few situations for that price where it might 'come in handy' that it's a bit of overkill; it would need to get me a shot that won a very high placed photo competition to pay for itself! Except of course for nabbing celebs on the beach from a different island or w/e ![]() |

Re: For every discerning Canon Owner
It's closest focusing distance is 45.9 feet so one thing's for sure, you aren't going to be frightening many creatures away with your presence!
Just to put this in perspective, ONE PHOTO, the first picture of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie together on a very secluded beach (taken from a long way away!) was sold to the highest bidder and pretty much every newspaper went for it. It sold for £1 million! That is enough to buy one of these babies and still make a profit of £950,000. And hey, the next time you take the same shot you'll get a close-up of Ms Jolie's cleavage whch will no doubt sell for a whole lot more dosh! It really is a different world but this is no pap lens, it weight an absolute ton and would break whichever shoulder you tried slinging it over <g> Ceers, Rob

Re: For every discerning Canon Owner
Thanks for that information Rob
I am now wondering if I could get anywhere near that type of profit if I was to photograph Angela or Fiona and sell them {with the peoples permission} to Pixalo ![]() Regards Sparhawk |

When I said peoples permision I was talking about Angela and Fiona not the other members of this site. I was thinking that Pixalo would PAY ME as a thank you of having photos of 2 atractive women. This I would, without hesitation share 80/20 with the young ladies in question and believe all 3 of us should make a tidy profit from the generous members on this site ![]() Regards Sparhawk |
