I need a favour and so thought I would make it a little bit interesting too. I am in the middle of redesigning my personal website and need a new logo/header. If anyone wants to have a go at designing me something I’ll provide the best effort with a little prize out of my own pocket…it won’t be much but it’s better than nothing
In return you must relinquish all rights to the design and give me permission to use/adapt/utilise it in any way connected with said site.Although I will choose my personal favourite (who will get the prize) I thought it might also be fun to do a poll of a few of the best efforts too, so that everyone can get involved and to remove my bad taste In the end I may not even use the one I pick but it will be interesting to see what people can come up with. Ok some details for you…the size must be no bigger than 800pix X 150pix, must blend/contrast/work with the main site colour of #222 and can include bits/parts of any pictures found on my site currently (if you wish) or be just lettering/what ever design/logo you come up with. Other information that might be helpful, The site is mainly a dark design but parts of it are using different shades of blue too (#71a1b6). You can see the current design on the site now and below is a different version that I quickly made as a place holder while I am working on the final website design. It looks out of place here but in the dark site works quite well...to get a better idea you could always view it on the Pixalo black colour scheme ![]() ![]()

No specific font/design but the site is called Pictualis so you can include/use that as your creative juices see fit. It's entirely up to you lot, just keep it classy

Obviously WIP but what do you think of the direction I'm going in?

Re: A favour from the creative...with a small incentive
Err...the font is a little boring and the picture (while obviously excellent) doesn't really lend itself to being used site wide. The white border won't work with the site either...
It may be better to base any logos on a size of 800x150pix even if they are then setup of center etc...that way they will fit straight into the new site ![]() |

Boring fact you know there is or was a software company called Q&D which stood for quick and dirty, fine until they started working on kids school software

Re: A favour from the creative...with a small incentive
IMHO, I like Take 2 better than Take 1. But in my somewhat creativly challenged mind, I think maybe too much is cropped off the bottom. I also like Ian's first image, but JMitchell's is my favorite so far.
![]() Heh.. not even sure I should be posting my opinion yet, without having something myself to submit. ![]() |
