Re: File-sharing 'darknet' unveiled

I read about this on Digg where the news was first circulated. Its a pay for service being offered for 'reasonable' price that will allow users to use their files sharing programs (amongst others) totally anonymously. I believe that with the authorities cracking down on this and targeting the files sharers more and more that it has quickly become very popular.

I know that the files sharing programs are very widely used and I wonder if anyone here is worried about being caught and if you have considered the possible consequences or do you use them on the basis that “it won’t be me” that will get caught?

But as I've seen said before, what real difference is there behind an ISP holding details of your download activities, vs some Firm you know nothing about

Why not just use a program like "Hide IP"

I think the main difference in this case is that the 'Firm you know nothing about' is based in Sweden which has some very strict privacy laws. This in return also makes it virtually impossible for authorities to get information that they would need in order to prosecute people that may be using file sharing programs.

It’s not by coincidence that most of the Warez sites are hosted on Swedish servers
