Freeview with Component out
Can you help I am looking for a freeview box with twin tuners & hard disk for recording. Only thing is I would prefer "component" out, to give best possible picture. My serach so far has been fruitless.

Re: Freeview with Component out
HI RICHARD, WELCOME TO PIXALO. I HAVE A PANASONIC DVD WITH 250GB HARD DRIVE TWIN TUNER WITH FREEVIEW BOX. AFTER LOTS OF SEARCHING
AND READING ALL THE REVIEWS THIS ONE CAME OUT BEST. I THINK PANASONIC ALSO DO A 160GB HARD DRIVE VERSION AS WELL. |

Re: Freeview with Component out
Most of the decent hard drive recorders come with a twin tuner and a lot come with Freeview. However, I cannot be sure whether both tuners have the freeview compatibility though I would have thought so. Cheap recorders often only have a single tuner but decent branded machines usually have twins.
I think the key here is to look for a twin tuner recorder with built-in Freeview rather than a Freeview box with twin tuner and recorder if you see what i mean. Cheers, Rob |

Re: Freeview with Component out
actually freeview hdd recorders are ten a penny. It's the component out I'm sure Richard is finding difficult to source.
Personally I wouldn't bother. SD digital TV is that crap quality it'd hardly benefit. However after a quick search I find the "Topfield 5800", while not having dedicated component out sockets, does allow you to configure one of the scart sockets to component out. Try this linky... Currys - Shop for Personal Video Recorder - Topfield 5800PVR T Digital TV Recorder if it doesn't work due to curries *******ised website, just search for Topfield and currys.co.uk |
