help needed with edit signature

good morning to all ....or I should say good evening as I think it is night over your way

Was hoping someone may be able to explain what I am doing wrong...I have accessed edit signature

but I cant get it to change colour or appear at end of threads I write...this is probably the time to say Iam not very computer minded

but am determined a little box (computer) wont get the better of me ...really appreciate some help with this...

thanks ....will take the time and go through all info before i do anything else.I just am so overwelmed by the friendleness and great advice by all.Have been on couple other sites more local , and its like a tight little group who dont welcome new comers.
