How many of you on here (probably mainly regular posters) have an email reply set to tell you whenever there's a reply to a subscribed thread, and how many just check the forum when the go on the computer?
I've just started to think that maybe the reason I reply faster than most people is because the minute there's a reply, I'm straight on it and reading it because i get an email alert and a little postcard in the corner of my screen telling me who and what thread!
Is this abnormal?

Yeah, you're abnormal

I get enough email spam as it is so I just check the forums regularly and search on New Posts.

I don't have e-mail notification switched on. I tend to use the new posts feature pretty much all of the time.

S'OK, Jack, you are not alone! I always use the email notification - in order to see whether anyone ever bothers to respond to a comment I might make!

Actually, since I receive rather a large number of emails from a number of email addresses, I'm well used to sorting out the useful from the useless. Only time it's a pain is if I'm away for a few weeks (as I monitor my emails when away but don't delete)

Just to let people know that if you use email subscriptions it is in your best interests to ensure that your email account works and doesn't bounce back the mail. For every account that bounces back three emails in a row with a permanent error, I personally login to that account, cancel all subscriptions and then disable the account until the user contacts me to rectify the situation. I am sure you can imagine how frustrating it is to receive multiple bounced emails day in and day out.

Please bear that in mind if you change email addresses or have a habit of subscribing to all the galleries and every thread

I really like the "New posts" implementation here. Specifically the second element to it - "The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts". Don't recall seeing that anywhere else.
