Maybe not wise but would it be illegal to photograph a crime scene?

Strictly speaking, if you were to photograph a crime scene at a very early stage or during the committing of an offence, your photographs are evidence and could be siezed by the police.

The reason I ask is that there is/has been a major crime right outside my front window......I've had phone calls from friends to take some images. I told them no chance.

Of course, you could always rattle some shots off and hand them over to assist enquiries, but you would not be able to use them whilst the case was 'sub judice'.

Not a lot happening now.

Road has been closed for several hours (one of the major roads into Sheffield) with just the forensics working under floodlights.

Road still closed, man attacked and then mowed down by 4x4, murder investigation underway. Id have done the photographs but then it is down to the individual on things like this. TBH you could have taken photographs got them published then handed them over to police when they asked for them, Ive had this happen before.

LOL, nope I gave myself the day off and the 1st I heard about this was on the radio this morning just as I had got stuck in all the traffic chaos as I was taking car in for 2 new tyres to the garage around the corner from the scene.

I live just across from a ight club, ive got some cool shots of police dragging away the nutters...

Not as bad as you guys in Sheffield though. Thats sounds pretty serious.

LOL I actually live in the South of the city but stop in a flat above where I work most nights.

I was actually questioned today even though I know nothing.........I had to show the Police all my tattoos

Anyway I never took no shots in the end.
