Mondeo beats BMW 3 Series in AutoCar test

The new shape Ford Mondeo has beaten the BMW 3 series in this latest test

These people who buy cars just for the badge

So if you had £22k burning a hole in your pocket, would it be a BMW 320D or Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCI ?

I remember when the last Mondeo came out, Top Gear put about 8 or 10 2 litre cars including the Mondeo and the 3-series around a race track.

The Ford was the fastest overall and was 2 secs quicker than the BMW.

For £22k, I'd go for a Focus ST3 and spend the £3k change on some more camera gear.

A BMW isn't a BMW if it's only got 4 cylinders.

I'd spend less than half that on a well used model and pocket the rest of the cash.
I wouldn't buy a new 4 cylinder BMW.

about the bmw minis, they are def more bmw than they are mini's anyway! is it one of the new bmw's u have markulous?

It is indeed one of the new MINIS I have, Steve.

I'll add that my first two cars were old MINIS - so it's nice to have come full circle and returned to a MINI

i don't think i could face downgrading from a mini to a bmw at all!

my sister wanted a bmw for her first car but i have her converted to the good old mini's now!
