Re: My new car
Track cars rarely make good road cars.
My car has got modified suspension, but nowhere near track spcification. Even so, most of the time I have to keep a stick between my teeth to stop them breaking evey time I encounter a road imperfection, and the roads are getting worse and worse. They almost justify having a 4x4! I could think of much better road cars for a lot less money. |

Re: My new car
I parted company with my Caterham 7 because it was too difficult to dodge all the potholes and bad reinstatements, never mind speed bumps.
I'm not a fan of 4x4s these days but the state of the roads may justify one!

I thought you were considering a Suburu which at least has some street cred! Unless it's a T5 (of which my neighbour has one - done 200k but insurance won't insure for less than Ł10k and it's still going up in value!) |

Re: My new car
I tried the subaru estate and liked the volvo better? I though I was going mad! I was really looking forward to trying the subaru, had even got cheque book with me! But it was just so unimpressive, alot less quick on the pick up than the volvo v50 diesel & the inside was lacking in quality. It was Andy that did most of the drive in the Subaru as I'd just had an op, & he tried to push it, but no joy, really flat.
I actually out cornered a porche on a roundabout with the volvo last week ![]() Andy is looking at new cars now & we tested an audi a3 with 4 wheel drive, that was fun. Last edited by Whipspeed; 16-08-2007 at 16:14. |
