My new logo - thoughts

Hiya, just designed a new logo type thing. Thought you might want to offer suggestions or crits on it. I know it's just text, but I tried a few other things and they clashed somewhat...

Or is something like this better?

Jack, first one's simple and reasonably classy, it's unlikely to distract from any photographs it's displayed with. The second is far to busy for me and not very clear.

Yes I agree, although as a standalone logo, the second one might draw a few more second glances

Prefer the first but not sure about the two different fonts or at least these two fonts, i dont think they complement each other. Keep the font you have your name in but change the photography font to something different.

What about something like this, only had a very quick play so fonts look to different brightnesses and plus my PS skills are limited but.....

Yes that is the kind of thing I should have done. It was just that the second font was a brand new one and I wanted to use it

I had the exact same thought as soon as I saw it, I think "Photography" in a more regular straight font would work well and I'd have a play with different sizes and even colours aswell.

They all don't look too bad at all to me

I guess you just need to keep playing around with variations on the theme until you come up with something you like... I had a quick play too, couldn't resist
