Well being skint I had an idea as Its how Ive started. Is anyone or would anyone be interested in doing my pics for cost of materials only? i just want a CD with the images on, Ive had one offer but I feel a bit bad as the guy is two hours away.

What about getting friends to photograph for you, just tell anyone who has a camera to bring it and then give you the files, a friend of ours has a great album like this. If you want groups though, you have to have one to do them for you. It can work out really well.

Ah its alright thanks Im going with the guy from hampshire, he has previous experience but wants to buid his portfolio so covering his petrol for him.

No one wants to be responsible for the pics freinds /family wise lol miserable lot! lol

A friend of mine had her brother in law to be do her shots, he told her he was brilliant. He took all the shots at the wedding and then took them to Boots to be developed. She phoned me in tears the next day after looking at them as they were wonky and had tops of heads etc missing. So I gave her the shots I'd taken, which are in her album and she then got photo's in from everyone else at the wedding.
She's not asked him for any more photos

lol thats awful, that was one thing I was worried about if i got friends to do it, this chaps done 6 weddings and I have evidence of his shots, so unless something goes drestically wrong we should be ok.

Is it worth the risk though? If something does go wrong who will be to blame in this case?

You can't expect the photographer to take the blame when he has no reimbursement to cover his outlay, time and skill set. Plus I doubt that any insurance will be involved since there is no payment changing hands You only get one chance of capturing the wedding day and for most women (and some men) it means a lot, both parties here have a lot to lose potentially!

Are both parties totally clear on this and have you both got a written agreement in case of issues arising? I like the idea of someone helping out but if I were the photographer I would insist on a written contract before I even got in the car.

Yesall done above board in the right way for both of us, if he didnt do it no one would apart from some badly taken snapshots , worth a go i think.
