LA County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says that Paris Hilton has been fitted for an ankle bracelet and put under house arrest for the next 40 days, after authorities decided to release Paris from jail due to medical reasons. She got out of jail just after 2:00 AM.

Paris will be under house confinement in her West Hollywood home for 40 days. After the 40 days are up, Whitmore says she will have "fulfilled her debt to society."

Whitmore made it clear that Paris was not released early -- she was reassigned. She is technically still in custody.

Wouldn't doubt it if the medical reason for her "reassignment" is she was making all the other inmates sick. Sarah Silverman nailed her when hosting the MTV movie deal. Let's never forget justice and rich folks justice are not the same. Bet she is arrested again before her reassignment is completed.

She is now back in jail. Apparently the sentencing judge did not take kindly to her lenient treatment (from another judge), so banged her up again.

I'm pleased she's back behind bars - she broke the law and just because she's famous for being famous (and nothing else) doesn't mean she should be entitled to be above the law.

If she struck and killed someone, would they be any less dead for being run over by some "B Grade" celebrity???
