Political Correctness lol
ASDA refuse nude photograph - Mum is refused by ASDA to print 'nude' baby picture on son's 21st birthday cake.
A mum from Rock Ferry in Merseyside has been told by supermarket chain ASDA that she could not have a picture of her son printed onto a birthday cake because it contained nudity. 41-year-old Gail Jordan attempted to have a picture of her son as a baby printed on to a cake for his 21st birthday, but was told by the supermarket chain that they could not print the image as the baby's bottom was showing. Gail disputed the decision explaining that the cake was just 'a bit of a laugh' for her son's 21st, but ASDA refused saying that they had a no nudity policy and that the baby on the image could be anyone's child as far as they knew. In the end Gail settled at having the image printed with a star placed over to censor the 'offending area'. "I can't see nudity as being a problem at ASDA when I see the types of magazine they sell," Gail commented while being interviewed by BBC news. A spokesperson for ASDA said that they have a policy across the board stating no nudity of any sort no matter what age the person happens to be. ![]() borrowed from another site

Re: Political Correctness lol
If someone else produces the material then ASDA don't get sued merely for selling it. That they are playing it safe is just another example of the institutionalised fear that when faced with the need to apply common sense someone will go talk to a lawyer instead.
Did you know that if a child cut a hole in a fence, crawled onto a railway embankment, and got injured by a train it would be Network Rail (or whatever they are called now) who would be liable unless they could prove conclusively that the hole was not already there? The whole concept that a child should know better than to crawl through a hole in a fence and onto a railway line is just quietly ignored.
