Looks that way, gonna have to order some of those swabs and fluid me thinks, tried the kits before, useless!!! so ill have a go at that copperhill thingy, I tried to purchase some stuff from a local camera dealer and he said that he wouldnt stock it for insurance purposes, Moron!

I had the D1mk2 cleaned by canon about 3 months ago and had to send it back to them 3 times as they had not done it properly, the D60 has never been cleaned and ive had that now for about 5 years.

no no no no nononononono.... The propellant in them makes them worse. Some of the brush blowers may get rid of some of the loose crap but as you can see, on mine I think Ill pop to the local jetwash.

i hadnt ever used it on the sensor, got the pros to do it!
by the way, i hope they didnt ruin any more snow shots?!

Nah I get used to working with them, almpost like friends, the damn dirty stains....
The dust that is ... not my friends.

Once you have used the sensor swipes and cleaned it yourself you'll wonder what all the worry was about. Its also much more convieniant (and faster) than sending your body away to have its sensor professionally cleaned, and in some cases you can do a much better job

Intemos sticks are good, used with the fluid. One stick to wash & one to dry.

Oh, and for really sticky marks, Ive found Cif cream works well

Use Cif cream on your sensor? Now you must PLEASE tell me your joking. You are? Phew!

Seriously, the best investment is to buy a Green Clean sensor cleaning system. I admit it is more expensive but it is brilliant and does a far better job than any other products AND cleans the whole camera, not just the sensor.

It uses a can of clean air but there is no danger whatsoever of propellant contamination because this has attachments that turn the blower into a suction pipe so you effectively vacuum your sensor and the rest of the inside of your camera, mirror, viewfinder etc. It collects all the debris in a chamber that can then be emptied away from the camera so is not simply blowing it around inside.

I have done a review of this here:Pixalo Photographic Equipment Reviews - Sensor Cleaning System - In fairness, I should add that Gary was not impressed with it and for some reason the vacuum didn't work for him but I am not sure why. I found it highly effective and was gobsmacked when I emptied the dust chamber at how much it had collected yet Gary didn't find his collected it up. I can't answer for why it works so well for me and not for him. I still entirely stand by my review and since that was posted I have cleaned my own camera a couple more times and three friends cameras, all with excellent results. Maybe Gary got a duff set? I simply do not know. Mine is superb, that's all I can say.

I used the Copperhill method a lot before and it was ok but this has been much better in my own personal experience.
