Sinclair Spectrum - 25 years old next month

...& I can remember buying one as a kid when they came out ....now I feel old

Can you remember :-

- Your 1st game
- Your best game
- Any games you actually completed !!

For me it has to be 1st game - Horace goes skiing .... best game - Manic Miner or Daley Thompsons Decathlon & I finished Sabre Wulf

I never owned one myself, but I enjoyed playing Chuckie Egg the most on my mate's Spectrum.

I was more of a BBC Model B kid... Elite, now that was a game

My first computer was the sinclair ZX81, the manual was bigger than the computer.

oh i had a 48k and when i got a Spectrum 128k with its OWN attached tape deck it was the bees knees!...... i LOVED chuckie egg.... did you know you can play the original game online!
and jetpac!
and outrun!!!!!!!!!!! that was just brilliant! the fact it took longer to load than it did ti play has nothing to do with it!

Ooooh chuckie egg ...loved thagt game ....the way you could just jump off platforms & land on ladders part way up ...excellent

Also had the BCC & loved Elite !!!! Trying to get enough money for auto docking & was it Vipers were the ships to avoid ?

Ah Jetpac ...... remind me who wrote those games, as they were all excellent at the time . Just loved the load screens . Didn't Jetpac have a cheat though, where you stayed in top right & shot off the screen & could never get killed ?

Oh auto docking was a must, I don't know how many time's I crashed into those damn space stations and yep, it was the vipers

p.s If you still like to have the odd play, check out the PC game "Freelancer" by Microsoft game studios... It's a more modern version of Elite.

My 1st pc game I got hooked on was Prince of Persia. Still got it (although not played it for years). Or am I in the wrong movie here
