Just noticed that the number of signed up members on Pixalo is now just 53 away from the magical 5,000 members which would be fantastic. I remember being excited when we hit the first thousand!

But it made me think too: are you remembering to do your friends a favour by telling them about Pixalo? I can mention this as I am not Crew so this is not coming from Pixalo themselves. I just want as many photography enthusiasts as possible to enjoy what I genuinely believe to be the best forum of its kind on the internet.

So, why not think about who you might invite to come along and get a taste of Pixalo. am sure they'll soon see what a friendly, fun and helpful place it is and when they ask how much it costs to get 40Mbs of free space to show their photos, places to post pictures and get feedback and helpful comments, tutorials to help them with photography and the use of software for post processing, reviews on cameras and accessories, all sensitively moderated by a friendly group of volunteer moderators, you can tell them with a smile: IT'S ALL FREE

If you go to your UserCP and copy the referal link and send it to them, you will be credited with having brought a friend into the Pixalo Community.

So go on, tell a friend and watch their enthusiasm grow even stronger for our wonderful hobby

Only thing I would say is, though, Rob: How many people of those 5,000 actually post on a regular basis, or have ever posted? Isn't that why you join more or less?

People join Pixalo for all sorts of reasons Jack. YOU joined so that you could show photos, have people critique them and offer critique to other people but let's not limit the scope of Pixalo's usefulness to others.

I love seeing people posting and showing pictures and all the rest of it but some people prefer to take their time, get a feel for the place and work there way up to that slowly and that is fine. Let's face it, if 5000 people all posted even once a week, it would be impossible to keep up and offer meaningful contributions!

So tell your friends and when they get here, help them around, show them how to use their gallery, encourage them to post a picture on the sharing thread or critique thread, remind them that there are loads of good reviews as well as tutorials to learn from.... once they are comfortable, they'll treat it like home just as we do
