We once thought of buying a house in Okehampton. As they were showing us round, the owners pointed out how one could see a large part of Dartmoor from the upstairs windows. My wife innocently asked why so much of the moor that was visible was black.
"Oh, that was a little lad that we fostered last year, he was a pyromaniac." Honestly, that wasn't the reason we didn't buy...   |
