Who was closest then?

Well, the D300 went back to Jessops today due to an un-correctable back focus error!

To those who speculated on a time span of camera ownership, the total duration was 13 days and 14 hours.

Hmm... lots of people seem to be having issues with the newest D300s....
Please don't tell me you're gonna give up on it straight away

Re: Who was closest then?

Well I didn't quite tell the whole story.
I took it back today and got a new replacement.
Only when I opened the box for the new camera did I realise that my first on was not new.
I think jessops gave me a camera that had been returned once before.
I believe this to be true as the documentation/cd's that came with the original unit were not in a heat sealed bag and the copy of NX was not in it's presentation card.

It is sad to think some hapless wannabe photographer will probably wind up with the dud and be none the wiser.

That said, I had caused a fair amount of scratching to the screen protector so, all but the partially sighted will notice this when they remove the tiny bit of film covering the protector.

Still, well done Jessies for not giving me any grief about the exchange.

I am sorry but my opinion is that Jessops were totally in the wrong in the first place if the camera was 'secondhand' and that them not giving you grief for returning it hardly makes things right

Re: Who was closest then?

Well you'll be pleased to hear, initial testing shows the camera/lens is performing well.
I'll let you know if anything strange happens, like, I dunno, I decide to go Canon!
