'Cool Cash' card confusion - News - Manchester Evening News

Just a little exert to give you an idea:

"The 23-year-old, who said she had left school without a maths GCSE, said: "On one of my cards it said I had to find temperatures lower than -8. The numbers I uncovered were -6 and -7 so I thought I had won, and so did the woman in the shop. But when she scanned the card the machine said I hadn't.

"I phoned Camelot and they fobbed me off with some story that -6 is higher - not lower - than -8 but I'm not having it.

Shouldn't laugh really but

Mind you what does it say about educations standards!

What gets me is the arrogance: "Some story that -6 is lower than -8" and "I'm not having it". She still won't accept she's wrong!

I get that with wrong numbers at work sometimes. People just won't believe that I can't help them and don't know the person they're trying to call, apparently not considering that I have no reason to lie to them...

As most of you know, I'm at Thule AFB in Greenland. A couple days ago, I answered a call from some ociffer trying to reach a base hospital in Italy. After 10 minutes of trying to explain the error of his ways, and him insisting that he actually did call Italy and that I was just trying to harass him, I finally hung up. Laughed about it all day though.
