When I say I'm going outside with my camera I like to say I'm going hunting. What's more I like to call my places where I like taking macro photos my hunting grounds.
And I was blessed with some wisdom lately about it - it's in my blood. First people on earth were leaving caves for hunting. Humans were hunting from the very beginning. What happend when civilisation came? We are lost - because I'm not going to call it hunting when I go shopping (even when it's for food).
When I discovered macro photography my basic instincts were awaken. I'm forced to go there and look for insects. I'm forced to make those macro shots and I'm proud of my trophys. I feel good with that. I'm a hunter. I'm creazy about my weapon - I keep it clear and ready. I have special clothes so I could lay in the mud. I pray to the sun and wind in hope they'll help me .
I'm a XXI century hunter.
Are you too?

You may not be, necessarily!

Well, we all do go shooting and I'll admit to studying the weather forecasts much harder - but then I may want still days for macro and temperature inversions (cloud in the valleys, hilltops in the sun) or snow for landscapes

Crazy? maybe a little . But then I`ve spent about an hour and half stood still on a freezing morning to get a pic of a robin but it`s worth it

Although I am sure that the people who went past me or their bikes or in their cars last Saturday when I was lying at the side of the road photographing orchids may not have agreed.
