I'm gonna apologise in advance for this but i must have my rant!

I'm getting REALLY p****d of with blokes referring to their wives as 'the wife', on this and other forums, indeed anywhere.

What is this 'the wife' then? A ****ing kitchen appliance? Kettle? Dishwasher? Toaster? A sex 'object' that just happens to wash your undies?
Or just some 'thing' you live with that won't let you spend as much as you'd like on toys or take her photograph?
Do you buy 'it' some flowers/chocolates/perfume/undies/whatever occasionally? If so it's rather strange behaviour on your part - why don't you buy some for the microwave and the lawn mower then?
I think you should all take 'the wife' out for a romantic meal and apologise to it. Or get used to being referred to as 'the ex'......

Rant completed, deep breath taken, glass of wine poured....

Im actually taking "Bridget" out tonight, for a wine and dine i thought the comment on the "Spending and not taking her photograph" was quite amusing.

hmmmmmm well im no ones wife but how about The other half who is just getting ready to go out to work! lol im sure he doesnt really mind what i call him as long as its half nice! , however i have on occasion caught him calling me The Wife, and as he gets a verbal bashing its not cos of the "The" bit, its cos of hte "wife" bit! lol

Well i took Bridget out for dinner after a "Stressfull" week, had a nice time and now looking forward to another week of the same.

I refer to the girl I married 37 years ago as, My Wife when the company I'm in has never met her.
I refer to her by her name Doreen when they know who I'm talking about and may have only met her once.
Other times together usually "Chick"

I think much of it is done tongue in cheek, and needs to be taken less seriously. If someone was completely serious then it would be another matter, but from what I've seen, we don't have any wife-abusing, brutish posters here on Pixalo at the moment

Tchh Tchh thats Shocking, I must say I would never call er indoors the wife, gawd almighty the missus would go loopy if i called er that, as for referring to er as the refrigerator well I just never thought of calling the old trouble and strife names like that, she does respond rather to well to Oi though, if I shout it loud enough. Comes of being born in Whitechapel I suppose
