All in one printer, scanner,copier

I WOULD LIKE SOME HELP AND ADVICE PLEASE. I HAVE ADVERTISED MY CANON PRO 9000 PRINTER AND MY CANON 8600F SCANNER IN THE FOR SALE SECTION.

AS THESE ITEMS ARE TO LARGE FOR MY FLAT NOW, I WANT TO BUY AN ALL IN ONE PRINTER,SCANNER,COPIER.

I WOULD PREFER EITHER A CANON OR EPSON, AND MUST PRINT TO A4 SIZE.

ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE, THANK YOU

Re: All in one printer, scanner, copier

I'd go for one on the Canon Pixma all in ones. There's a range depending on what you want to pay.

The models are normally prefix MP or MX ( the later I believe being the newer ones).

Here's the Canon list from their site

Canon Inkjet Multifunctional Multifunctionals - Canon UK

Re: All in one printer, scanner, copier

Silkstone has recommended a Canon all-in-one. Can't remember what the model was but it was an MP model - quite cheap too.

Try searching his posts or drop him a PM.

Re: All in one printer, scanner, copier

Hi Woody - I've sent you a PM. I have two MP610 all-in-one printers, but these are superseded. Choose bow between the MP560 and MP640. Good luck!

Re: All in one printer, scanner, copier

My wife uses a Canon MP610. It is a good all round scanner printer. It would not be the highest quality for photographic prints but I cannot fault it for size space and reliability. I use it myself at times as a photocopier.

Re: All in one printer, scanner, copier

I use a canon MP980. It does give very nice prints. Although the prints aren't quite at the level of a professional lab, it does allow a lot of experimentation with different papers. This model uses the Chromalife dye based inks...It doesn't use a lot of ink to print, but does go through a lot with the cleaning process every time it is switched on. I would recommend it for anyone who can leave it switched on most of the time.

Re: All in one printer, scanner, copier

I EVENTUALLY BOUGHT MY NEW ALL IN ONE PRINTER YESTERDAY.
I DECIDED ON A CANON MP640, A BIT OF A NIGHTMARE TO SET IT UP, ESPECIALLY THE WIFI CONNECTION.

AFTER ABOUT TWO HOURS, IT RECOGNISED MY WIFI AND MY MAC HAS NOW RECOGNISED THE PRINTER.

HAVE DONE A COUPLE OF TEST PRINTS WITH IT, THE RESULTS ARE ACCEPTABLE, BUT I CANNOT EXPECT THE RESULTS TO BE AS GOOD AS MY PREVIOUS PRINTER, A CANON PRO 9000.

IT IS QUITE NEAT, DOES NOT TAKE UP A LOT OF SPACE, WHICH WAS MY MAIN REASON FOR CHANGING MY PRINTER.

I DON'T KNOW HOW IT WILL PERFORM INK WISE, I EXPECT LIKE MOST PRINTERS IT WILL EAT IT, BUT THE CARTRIDGES SEEM TO BE CHEAP ENOUGH FOR THIS PRINTER, MUCH CHEAPER THAN MY PREVIOUS ONE.

TIME WILL TELL, BUT QUITE HAPPY AT THE MOMENT

Re: All in one printer, scanner, copier

CHRISA, THANK YOU. TIME WILL TELL WITH THE INK, I AM LEAVING IT SWITCHED ON AT THE MOMENT, AS EVERY TIME YOU SWITCH IT ON AND OFF IT GOES THROUGH A VERY LENGTHY CLEANING PROCESS, SO I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE CHEAPER INK WISE TO LEAVE IT ON, I DON'T KNOW WHETHER THAT IS A GOOD IDEA OR NOT
