Ansel Adams Exhibition

Just back from visiting this [City Art Centre, Edinburgh] and WOW!!.The subtlety and range of tones in these prints is mouthwatering. Not only that, there is a selection of mono prints by Lindsay Robertson, some Scottish landscapes and some from Adams' stomping ground Welcome To Lindsay Robertson.com -online photographic gallery of Scotland's Clanlands
Well worth a visit
PS.the thumbnails on the Lindsay Robertson site do not do his prints anywhere near justice.

Re: Ansel Adams Exhibition

Great isn't it? Glad to see someone else enjoyed it. Although the Robertson shots were great, and very nice at large sizes, the print quality doesn't even touch Adams' work. The grain is non existant, but on LR's you can see it very clearly indeed. Just goes to show how old technology still works

Re: Ansel Adams Exhibition

I think you might notice Lynesys grain more because the prints are just so massive. Is it not true that you should view a picture from double its diagonal distance? - when done so you see no grain.

Or I could be spraffing rubbish!
