Anyone booked to see Andy Rouse at Arundel?

On Sunday 16th November, I am heading over to the Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre in Arundel for a special day of seminars by one of my heroes, wildlife photograher Andy Rouse. It's called 'Visions of Light'

The day goes from 10am to 4.30pm and we also go out with him at lunchtime for a 90 minute session when he'll advise us and let us take shots in the centre.

The sessions sold out within 48 hours of going on sale on the Warehouse Express website and not really surprising considering the cost: £50 for the entire day and you get a £25 gift voucher to spend with WE included (I spend money with them anyway so that will be handy!) Frankly, a 6 1/2 - hour session with Andy Rouse for, in effect, £25 is an absolute bargain!

Thought I'd check if anyone else has also booked in for this day as we could then meet up.

I'll write a review of the day once it's all over as it might be of interest for the future. They are planning to do more of these days with AR next year.

Cheers,
Rob

I'll give you £26 for your ticket

Have great time what a bargain; by the way I'd be interested to see why he dumped the IIID for the D3; maybe Dave should go, he may need that voucher.

The food is excellent in the Black Rabbit though the place does get rammed by 12:30.

I dunno what time you'll be getting there but if it's early enough and the weather is good, go across the river to the Warningcamp road. Some cracking views back across to the castle

I'll be machine gunning the Brighton 10K that morning.

Re: Anyone booked to see Andy Rouse at Arundel?

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep an eye out for that view though must admit I am more likely to spend the lunchtime shooting the wildlife if the weather is decent. Will be an interesting day no matter what shots I come home with but if I can grab a few shots of the birds and things that would be a nice bonus, especially if we have Andy Rouse out there with us

Cheers,
Rob

Really? Isn't it fairly clear that it's the superior camera as it stands?

No, I don't think I do Graham, but not sure that I should ask you to elaborate

Look forward to reading your review Rob + seeing some shots, hope you have a gas, I'm a fan of Andy Rouse's too

On my previous comment, I meant to go to the other side of the valley first thing, before you start your main shoot.

Arundel is a nice (tourist trap) town though pretty hilly. The cathedral is worth a look if you have time. I've never been in the castle per se but have shot some events in the grounds, though they aren't usually open to the public.

Enjoy

Re: Anyone booked to see Andy Rouse at Arundel?

Yep, it's great Aidey, especially the two tigers squaring up to each other, superbly timed shot. I love tigers but must confess I was very naughty once (what do you mean 'only once?' )

I had to stick a wildlife shot into a club competition and really wasn't that keen so I decided to see what the judge was like. I did a composite shot of a lion and a tiger 'together' (the tiger was cloned in from another shot!) and the judge waxed lyrical over it and gave it 2nd place overall. I didn't have the heart to rmind him that they live on two different continents but hey, it was fun. There were a few knowing smiles in my direction that night but there we go.

Really must do a shot of a polar bear and a penguin chasing the same fish for the next one

Cheers,
Rob

Re: Anyone booked to see Andy Rouse at Arundel?

lol that is unbelievable surely a wildlife photographer judge would realise this pretty obvious fact, another idea is maybe a dolphin slapping a lion with its flipper in the middle of the sahara see if he notices
