Anyone else scanning today?

I'm sitting here scanning some new Rollei and 'Blad mono negs. I get the impression that there's a renaissance in film, judging by the steady rise in film camera prices on the auction sites.

So who else has been having fun with chemistry?

I think if you've had years of fun with film, it would always be a nice time to look back on.

I've not had much experience with film though. Would you want to go back to the dark rooms though?

Still got one! Indeed, when I had my home office put in, I specified space for an enlarger and a Nova 16x12 processor. Printing can be fun, if you don't have to do it.

Re: Anyone else scanning today?

I spent 35 years in the dark room perhaps thats why I wear dark glasses when I go outside! I have been into digital for 9 years, I put all my darkroom up for sale in 2005 I did not receive one offer so in 2007 The lot went to the tip except my 2 prized lenses a 50mm and a 63mm both nikkors I gave my 2 film cameras to a close friend for 125, but sometimes I wonder whether I acted a bit too soon now all the prices have gone up, and yes it now seems film cameras again are coming back into fashion, I am glad I hung onto my fast lenses! now when's the next camera fair?

Still got my OM2/sp and a bunch of fast primes. I occasionally use them, they like an old friend :-)

Re: Anyone else scanning today?

I am in a complete quandry at the moment about film. All my gear is film at the moment but I really want a DSLR. To get the one I want I will have to sell my Bronica SQAi kit, BUT every time I get it out to photgraph it for e bay I end up taking pics with it and just enjoying the experience...Its so difficult to decide what to do!!!

Re: Anyone else scanning today?

I also got rid of all my darkroom kit many years ago. I have no regrets as I have much more fun now than I ever did with a darkroom. I sold most of the general darkroom kit in about 2004 and the enlarger on e-bay in 2005.
