Re: battery grip trouble

Looks like some of the contacts are dirty and not making a good connection. Give them all a good clean.
Colin.

Re: battery grip trouble

Hi tigerbarb, not being a Nikon user I do not understand what settings you alter to use a battery grip.
On a Canon you just fit it, add the extra battery and leave all settings as they are and take your images.
The four exposures sound more like a bracketing setting.
Are both batteries charged, is the camera working O.K without it, is it actually turned on (it has it's own set of controls on the grip).
As Colin says it is worth checking the connectors .
All the best, Charles.

Re: battery grip trouble

HI TIGERBARB,
THE SETTINGS ON YOUR CAMERA, SHOULD NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE BATTERY GRIP, IF YOU BOUGHT THE GRIP FROM A SHOP, THEN I SUGGEST YOU TAKE IT BACK, AS IT SEEMS TO HAVE A FAULT.

YOU COULD TRY, AS COLIN HAS SUGGESTED CLEAN THE CONTACTS, IF YOU ARE VERY CAREFUL, OTHERS MAY NOT AGREE WITH THIS, BUT GET SOME WHITE VINEGAR AND A COOTON BUD AND PUT A TINY AMOUNT OF VINEGAR ON THE COTTON BUD AND CLEAN THE CONTACTS WITH THIS, WIPE THE CONTACTS AFTER AND MAKE SURE ITS DRY BEFORE PUTTING IT BACK ON THE CAMERA

Re: battery grip trouble

Thank you all I have sorted it out it was the cable ,the wirer in the cable had broken so I re connected the broken wires and it all worked, so I've got a new one now. Think what happened was I should have taken the cable off before I changed the batteries and that why I think it broke the cable, I hope this will help some body else out .
