Question Beginner! Help!

Hello everyone

I'd like to ask for a bit of advice about local classes in photography...

I'm in the Leeds/Bradford area of the UK and would like to dabble in a bit of photography and develop my fairly limited skills.

I'm a full time student at university so night classes would be ideal for me! I'm not after a diploma or anything really, something not as formal would be great.

Any ideas on where I can find such classes or where else to enquire?

Thank you and God bless!

Re: Beginner! Help!

Can only suggest doing a search for it. or looking for a local camera club which may be good for you or even have some idea of what is on offer in the way of courses in your area. hope u find something

Re: Beginner! Help!

If you want a good basic course, try City & Guilds level one. That gives you all the basic grounding & you get to meet other local photographers.

Re: Beginner! Help!

Hi Prepchick - to Pixalo.

Another option would be to see if there were any photographic clubs in your area. You would be sure to get help in just about every aspect of photography, albeit in an unstructured way.

I think that if you wanted evening classes, it is most likely that they would all be City & Guilds modules, although Angela did find a more basic course in her area, so they are around.

Re: Beginner! Help!

Joseph Priestly College run a number of part time courses for various levels at Morley nr Leeds, page 14 of their course guide lists them, most are in the evening although some are quite early. At around £125 for an academic year they're pretty good value.

I did about six months of one (I think it was a combined level one and two photography) it started out with the basics and was starting to get a bit more stretching when I had to quit due to a change in my job.

cheers

Dan
