Re: Best tips?

when u are going to shoot, dont just think" that looks nice" and shoot it.........imagine the finished result in your mind and try different settings and view points and dont be afraid to MOVE....... get up hi, down low... as many different angles as you can think of and is possible to get into ( and some that are not possible! ) lol

Composition, composition, composition... take the time to explore the scene through your viewfinder.

(something I tend to forget quite often! )

Re: Best tips?

I agree with the above but also try to plan some of your pictures. As well as identifying the subject, think about the time of day, season, weather to get the best light. You may need to visit the subject more than once to get the shot you want.

Re: Best tips?

don't shoot after 10am, or defore 4pm, if you want the best light, but I have actually got some pretty good shots between those times, and it's not allways possible to get nature co-operating ! Just learn how to use photoshop, or other corrective measures !

Re: Best tips?

Presuming you're shooting digital, take at least 2 if not 3 or more shots of everything.

If for no other reason, you'll get at least one shot where your subject hasn't blinked.

Re: Best tips?

Not whether they are tips as such...

Small number = big hole, big hole = more blurry background (over simplified but it worked for me!)

Keep your battery charged (and remember to place charged battery in camera )

Keep your camera manual to hand

Enjoy it, remember why you take pictures and who you are ultimately taking pictures for.
