Book help.

Put similar thead in couple of weeks ago but no luck waiting for a macro lens to come but in the meantime i was after a good macro book with info & work-flow, does anyone have any good recommendations on one that you could get, know everyone would have different preferences, cheers simpbow.

Re: Book help.

The best one I've come across is Arnold Wilson's 'Close-Up Photography and Photomicrography' (ISBN 0-7134-3909-2) which dates from 1985. The equipment discussed is film era but the technique sections are timeless.

Also, the photography is first class. Too many books on the subject are, in my opinion, illustrated with boring and/or downright bad images. Wilson is really very good at what he does and gives you something to aim at.

Re: Book help.

Never been one for books on special subjects....... I dont mind looking at pictures in books, but I think you can find better value just surfing the net for macro subjects (on how to do it) .....I would rather keep the money in my pocket, and just ask questions on here....or look at pictures in the gallery...
