Buying lenses
Hello all
![]() I'm off to the Himalayas for 3 weeks at the end of the month and would like to buy a new lense. All I currently have is the stock one that came with my EOS-300D (the 18-55mm) and an additional 75-300mm I rarely use (which I'll be selling to part finance the new one). Unfortunately with the trip hurting my pocket quite a bit I'm not left with much to splurge on a new lense, which is limiting my choice... especially when I can't stop looking in the £2-300 range! So my question - does anyone know of a camera lense retailer who does buy now pay later so I can spread the cost? The only one I've managed to find so far is: Warehouse Express - Camera Accessories and Lenses, Photography Equipment, Canon, Nikon Digital Cameras Although there prices seem a bit high i.e. one of the lenses I'm considering is the Sigma 18-200mm OS which they have up for £440, while everyone else seems to sell it £100 cheaper. Re: Buying lenses
Another option is to take a credit card with 0% finance for the year, giving you the chance to shop around for best price ?

Re: Buying lenses
I've come to the same conclusion. I've only got one CC anyways which I rarely use, so I think I'll go for something like the new Halifax card with 12 months 0%.
I'm now considering either the Canon 17-40mm F/4L or 10-22mm F/3.5-4.5. Both are around the £350-360 mark on eBay delivered. Anyone use either of these lenses here? I'll be using it on my trip from Beijing to Kathmandu overland (via Lhasa in Tibet and Mt Everest base camp), so it's mostly going to be wide angle shots of palaces and mountain ranges. |
