Camera Bags

I reckon I have tried every bag on the market (not owned them all though) so isnt anybody going to design a bag for One DSLR with standard lens + one extra lens + one 11 inch Laptop.

Re: Camera Bags

I have different bags/cases which is dependant on what I am shooting and doubt there will be just one bag for me.

Re: Camera Bags

As a matter of fact, I do use a shopping bag, and its plastic and people are shocked when I get my camera out to take a picture, but I dont always carry my laptop in it! If its just to the City to take a few candids its just one camera in the bag.

Re: Camera Bags

I am the custodian of the National Camera Bag Collection and can assure you that the perfect bag does not exist. I've recently proved the same rule with bags for video cameras etc.

Basically, a bag that holds everything you might want is too large and heavy when it contains everything you might want, and a bag that's conveniently sized and comfortable to carry just isn't big enough. The only solution involves helium balloons or a tame yak.

P.S. There are at least four Billingham bags in my collection, and they look (and smell) really great but don't solve the fundamental problem.

Re: Camera Bags

... You need a rucksack, which contains a "Coolbag" shopping bag...
Why the coolbag?... they contain padding....the insulation inside is great for keeping camera's safe.

I have not yet found a unobtrusive bag big enough for one DSLR, one standard, and one zoom lens, that doesnt look suspiciously like a handbag, manbag, or have "HERE IS A VALUABLE CAMERA" stamped all over it...

Re: Camera Bags

As well as the shoping bag I use a rucksack as well, much like Silver Dragon, and inside the rucksack is a small cheap coolbag which is waterproof, its just big enough for a camera standad zoom and a 70-300 zoom, there is just enough space in the rucksack for my small laptop this is how I travel when abroad, but I still wish somebody could make a proper bag! I meet loads of people who travel and they all have the same problem, the bags are too big or too small!

Re: Camera Bags

I have a small backpack with a laptop envolope on the back side and room for a camera and a couple of lenses. It is a backpack and you wouldn't want to look like a school kid,,,so I use the handles it has on the sides and top, but most of the time i use it as a shoulder sling bag. It was made for camera's and has the movible compartments inside. There is hope and there is a bag..somewhere.

Re: Camera Bags

I have checked their bags out at Focus and again too big or too small they did have one which nearly fits the bill but there was still a lot of empty space in it, and for £100 I had second thoughts, I think its the one that you have! thanks all the same.My traveling kit is D300 18-70 attached+70-300+13inch Laptop and and sometimes a few cables.

Re: Camera Bags

It will take that but I suppose it might have a bit of space to spare. Works well with a 17-55 and 70-200 or 70-300 and a 13" laptop.
