It's an older Sigma lens - photo of a Canon version in the link below if you scroll down....

Google Image Result for http://www.freewebs.com/dirkcleiren/Fotomateriaal/Sigma70_300APO.JPG

P.S. The text above it reads...

SOLD - Sigma 70-300 APO for Canon EOS with built in macro up to 1:2 magnification but with sticking (faulty) autofocus for 50 Euros, only for analogue reflex cameras.

Re: Can anybody please tell me what model this is?

I have a very similar f2.8 28-105mm, bought it new and dirt cheap a couple of months ago. its a discontinued lens from film days but gives excellent results on my 350 alpha. If you email the serial number to Sigma UK they will probably give you its provenance.I,ve found them very helpfull in the past.

Thats near as dammit thanks Silkstone all thats different is mine got a D probably for digital where that one has not so apart from the mount it looks the same. Also looking back from the guy I bought it from he had a D50 so maybe it was a stock lens supplied with his camera as he had a 18-55 that looked very similar.
Thanks to the other peeps who answere the post as well
Stef

Re: Can anybody please tell me what model this is?

The "D" refers to film, "DG "refers to digital on Sigmas!
