Re: CF memory cards

I've certainly never even seen such a convertor.

SD cards are too close in size to CF cards and a totally differant technology, so if you find an adapter you'd just have to give it a wizz

Re: CF memory cards

I would question the practicalness of this idea. Two problems come to mind. One is reliability the other is speed. Adapters can be a problem and data may be lost. The speed of writing may be effected using an adapter. I've used xD to CF adapters to read data onto a pda. I've also used xD to USB adapters. Both have had problems and I would not use them for original data. I would invest in a new CF for original data.

For example if you want to spend twenty quid have a look at seven day shop.
As an example only...

Re: CF memory cards

I agree with snap about trusting data to such a system. I gues that you have seen this thread and the Picstop offer for CF cards. At that sort of price I would not risk a converter.

New memory card etc

Are you talking about the CFs? I've not used that brand. I did get some cheepy viking ones from 7ds. Very reliable but no idea how they compare speed wize. I don't think they have them in at the moment.

Re: CF memory cards

Yup I have 2 Dane 4gb Compact flash cards that worked well in my 350D and now my 40D.

I've ordered a couple of 4gb Sandisk Extreme III +30gb cards for picstop today, just over £35 for the two inc post and packaging.

I must admit I have heard of a couple of Dane ones that where duff, but 7day did replace them with no hassle.
