Christmas Lights

Now fireworks are almost done it is almost time to switch on. (I gather that Oxford Street did it tonight) would welcome advice for grabbing after dark shots. Not something I have done much of. i am sure I can improve on these though. (Not my photos). Very pretty and not OTT display here in Cockermouth Cockermouth Xmas lights

Re: Christmas Lights

1) Use a tripod.
2) Use a tripod.
3) Set camera to a low ISO rating.
4) Focus camera on scene.
5) Set your aperture to a large rating F16 or F22.
6) Try using aperture priority (maybe bracket the shots by a stop or two).
7) Check you pic on LCD screen.
8) If picture not up correct consider going to manual mode and varying the exposure time as suits.

Think that's about it. Hope it helps.

Many thanks. First proper try at nights and lights. Got till 12th night to get it right.
