Clockwise or Anti clockwise
Ive been interested in photography for over 30 years now and only last night realised i do things differently to other photographers. I was watching im a celebrity get me out of here (coming out show
) and as i do with most tv programmes if theres a photographer i'm completely interested in what gear he has more than who/what they are photographing, then i noticed it All the photographers where looking through the camera using their right eye, ive always used my left dont know why but i tried it with right eye and its damn uncomfortable. Now im paranoid i look different to the pro's ![]() So do you rotate your images clockwise or counter clockwise ? no difference i suppose but just wandered if anyone else uses their left eye. Just thought Why do all cameras have the shutter button on the right?Dave |

Re: Clockwise or Anti clockwise
probably to do with being left/right handed.
Most things are made for right handed people - except the things in Neds shop. |

Re: Clockwise or Anti clockwise
Right eye here! It must be to do with the majority of people being right-handed, so they can operate the camera with one hand (hence the need for image stabilisation
).As a member of the persecuted left-handed minority, I prefer it this way round as it leaves my left (and more sinister) hand free to do the important job of removing the lens cap which I forgot to do before holding the camera to my eye. ![]() |

Re: Clockwise or Anti clockwise
No Dabhand you are not the only one
As a young person I was right hand, right eye but now {due to a weakness after getting hit in the eye with a metal rod} I find it is right hand ,left eye and find it totally natural when using my camera so do not think you are the odd one out ![]() Regards Sparhawk |

Re: Clockwise or Anti clockwise
You have to look out for acidental operation of buttons with your nose if you buck the trend. Watch for this if you upgrade. Otherwise I beleive it makes no difference. I think the only reason to rotate the camera a different way is if you are using a flash on the camera and you have a preference about the shadow.
