D3 owners - potential issue!

I want to ask if any other Nikon D3 owners have come accross a problem I seem to be having with my D3 before I contact Nikon.

I was out yesterday with the camera and went to take a shot....nothing happened. I looked at the top LCD display to see it was telling me that I had no capacity left on the CF cards. Knowing I had at least 100 shots left. I removed the cards and everything was fine. This has happened on a couple of occaisions and wondered if anyone else had come accross it.

Are you sure it's not a faulty card? Mark the one you were using and then rotate with other cards, if the problem happens with the same card I would say that is your issue.

I would certainly check your cards.

Yes I had a problem with a faulty card and it kept shooting only didn't record. The card was new and I've had a replacement card from the shop I bought it off. Oh and I had a default setting that if no card available it would still take the shot.

Re: D3 owners - potential issue!

The D3 takes 2 cards, using one as over flow. When the first is full, it shows the capacity left on the second. On these occasions, the display showed as both cards being full. I have many CF cards and am pretty sure that I have had different cards in each time.

What are the chances of owning 6 faulty Sandisk Extreme CF cards?

Try reinstalling the firmware before you send it anywhere.
