D3 questions

No i aint or can afford to get one yet but can i suppose start saving, anyway i read that if u stick DX lenses on it it automatically goes into DX mode and then becomes a 5.1 megapixel camera. thats if i read it correct, so does this mean that to make full advantage of the FX effort expense glass will also be req, so does this mean that my 17 55 and 70 200VR and the 18 200VR plus others will be not allowing the D3 to operate to its full potential.
Or is it a case of flea bay the lot inc the D200 and grip etc (hint hint) Then buy a 24 70 and watch the wife and the wallet go into meltdown!!

70-200 is fine the others are DX only. The 14-24 and 24-70 released at the same time are there to fill the gap and the 14-24 is a ground breaking lens but they are far from cheap. I'm planning on keeping my DX kit alongside FX as there are clear advantages for both.
