Data Transfer Rate Pentax K100D Super

Hi

I've searched the site and can't find a similar thread or answer to my question.

I understand the difference between SD and SDHC cards and Data Transfer Rate (DTR), and have read a link to Kingston posted on another thread.

I also understand that buying a card with a higher DTR than the camera can deliver would be a waste of money.

So... can anyone confirm which class (2, 4 or 6) SDHC card I need for my Pentax K100D Super as I want to experiment with RAW and need some high capacity cards.

Thanks

Steve

I found this reply in a similar thread in another forum

by DaveRb
"The manufacture should indicate if the camera will be SDHC capable. SDCH will allow 4G and higher for capacity. The speed does not matter for single shots, a class 2 is sufficent. Higher speeds would be applicable to digital movie cameras only as the bottleneck for single shot is the camera not the card. I have a Nikon DSLR and wasted money on higher speed SDHC. The additional capacity was great for taking a lot of pictures but the speed beyond class 2 was a waste of money for the application".

Maybe this answers my question......unless someone knows otherwise

Re: Data Transfer Rate Pentax K100D Super

I received today an answer from Pentax Technical Support

"Thank you for your enquiry, regarding recommended SDHC Cards
We would suggest that class 6 is recommended.

With kind regards,

Laura
Pentax Digital Camera Support Team"

Now I'm confused
